A few days ago we saw some info about the Xbox Smartglass app for Windows RT and Windows Phone. It was basically an advanced companion app for your Xbox, where you could control media playback, browse the Web and install apps and games. Microsoft mentioned that an Android version would be coming at some point.
Well last night was that point. Xbox Smartglass is now available on the Google Play Store for devices running Ice Cream Sandwich and above. It seems if you have a tablet you will need to manually get the apk across to your tablet as a tablet optimised version isn’t available yet.
Here is the Play Store description:
Use Xbox SmartGlass to enhance your entertainment on Xbox 360. Xbox SmartGlass lets your phone work with your Xbox 360 console to bring rich, interactive experiences and unique content about what you’re watching or playing, right to the device that’s already in your hand. You can also connect with your Xbox friends, track and compare your achievements, and change up your 3D avatar.
