One of the most eagerly awaited Windows Phone 8 devices is the Lumia 920. Various sites have been quoting contract based prices and barely any sites have quoted Sim Free prices.
Until now that is, online retailer Mobicity have tweeted saying they have the black Lumia 920 in stock for £599.99 here.
A bit steep if you ask me personally. I’m not sure if the extra apps and the superior camera warrant that cost. Also having spoken to a few retailers this morning they are suggesting that this price is way above the official Nokia retail price. Which is still not published. So if your wanting one I’d possibly wait a little while longer.
I’ve gone for the HTC 8X as my next phone if you’re wondering.
seriously! Nokia sales are dropping like a stone and they price this at £600!, the Nexus 4 is less than half the price.
Nokia = doomed. Pulling Win8 with it.
@888 Oh, don’t you understand how the market works? Don’t you think Mobicity charge you the price they think customers are willing to pay? And don’t you think we soon have many more online retailers offering the phone for a much better price? I know it’s hard to think but try – it doesn’t hurt.

Still, even if it was £499 it’s not doing itself any favours as it’s not a compelling price for people wanting a top end smartphoone and to switch and try Win8 phone
Like many I also want the Lumia 920 but I don’t want to buy from the only SIM-free outlet offering it. The price is too high and north of the expected Nokia price; also, once more outlets get it the price will drop and it’ll be under £499 and probably less than that. The problem is having to wait for something you want now. But, look at Phones4U and their EE pricing tariffs. If you want 8GB per month data it’s a whopping £61/£68 per month meaning over two years £1464+. Puts into perspective current pricing and why you should wait, if you can, for a few weeks.
Lumia 920 is the hottest phone on the market. Demands are overflowing from wherever you look and it tops the expansys and several other dealers list of preorders with both first and second place (two colours :D). Here in Sweden the demands are huge as well.
I am sorry for the sake of the writer. The HTC stands no chance next to the Lumia 920.
L920 has a better mor high res screen with higher brightness and their black filter + adaptive colours for the display= you will not only see the display in bright sun but also the colours will look a lot more natural than the faded colours you get from other screens in bright enviroments, touch with gloves nails bananas or whatever you prefer 🙂 , better camera with REAL optical image stabilisation and true 16:9 chip for full res 16:9 photos, free nokia music store music for a lifetime, nokia drive included, wireless charging, ceramic buttons and camera backplate, much more solid and robust, a LOT better looking designwise than the competition (doesnt matter if HTC copied the colour concept since the lumia has a lot nicer curves and just looks more like a piece of art than the dinky toy looking HTC), nokia is well known to have superior signal reception, it has three HAAC microphones for superior in call sound quality.
And I would take a “developed in finland” over a “developed in taiwan” phone any day in the week 😉
