Last week I wrote about some odd naming choices by Samsung. Well it seems that the Mega range are going to be in addition to the Note range. The picture above is what you might look like.
SamMobile have been sent specs for the Mega 5.8 and it seems to be a successor to the Galaxy Grand, which was a cheaper Galaxy Note and never made it to the UK. Which makes me wonder if we’ll ever see these mid range “Mega” devices.
Spec wise it is rumoured to be as follows:
- Codename GT-I9152
- 5.8” qHD (960×540) TFT display
- 8 megapixel back camera
- 2 megapixel front camera
- Dual-core clocked at 1.4 GHz
- 1.5 GB of RAM
- Bluetooth 4.0
- WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n
- A-GPS
- 2600 mAh battery
- Dual SIM
- Dimensions 164×83.8×9.7mm
- Android 4.1.2 / 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
- Nature UX interface
So it is an upgrade over the Galaxy Grand which had a 5.5″WVGA screen, but still qHD on a 5.8″ screen isn’t going to be the most pleasing device, but should be nicely priced.

Dual Sim, big battery, big screen, doesn;’t sound too bad, then you see the qHD, thats only 190PPI 🙁 These days thats not really enough is it? Depends how much it is I guess, have to be cheap to sell well over here though.
I wonder if this woman knows how much exposure she gets here on CSP. :-p
