I remember in the olden days probably the first mobile game I ever played was Snake. I loved it, being able to play an actual game on a phone was just mind blowing.
Fast forward fifteen years and we have a drastically different world, almost everything imaginable is possible on a mobile device, games are becoming graphically intense and complex. So to come across a remake of Snake is a refreshing change.
Jungle Mamba has three difficulty levels which basically are different sized levels. The harder levels are bigger, which sounds easier but there are just more obstacles getting in the way. As to be expected you control the snake and you have to collect food to grow. Some food (poisonous dragonfruit) makes steering the snake harder as the controls are reversed, some food (red chili pepper) makes the snake speed up and lastly bananas make the snake shrink.
In a twist to the game that I found quite cool, you can actually move the snake across its own path. Meaning you can grow a huge snake if you want. Some snakes also have super powers meaning they are immune to certain effects brought upon by different types of food. It all may sound a bit complicated, I found the best way was just to play the game for as long possible.
Jungle Mamba from blugri features:
- High-quality graphics & sounds
- 4 different snakes, with different abilities. 1 snake is unlocked, 3 others can be unlocked by achieving high scores
- 3 different jungles, in three different sizes
- Jungle fruits that can poison or heal your snake
- Left handed and right handed gameplay
The game is free and ad supported, which at times seemed large. It’s still great fun though. The game supports WP7.5 and WP8 so no one is left out. Just head over to the link below the video.
They have posted a demo video to their YouTube channel.
