Do you like the Xperia Z but not the price tag? Want to sample the high speed data of 4G LTE technology? Well you could do a lot worse that pick up the new Sony Xperia SP that’s now available on contract with EE, Orange and T-Mobile.
However, we suggest that the pay as you go deal at T-Mobile for £250 is the best option. Let’s face it, that’s a pretty damn good price. Take a look at the specs if you need more convincing:
- Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
- 1.7GHz Qualcomm MSM8960Pro Dual Core processor
- 1 GB RAM
- 8GB ROM
- microSD expansion
- Adreno 320 GPU
- 1280×720 4.6″ screen
- 319 PPI
- MicroSIM slot
- Corning Gorilla™ glass
- 8 MP camera with LED flash
- VGA front camera
- 2370 mAh battery
- 130.6 x 67.1 x 9.98 mm
- 155 grams
- Available in black or white
Okay, it’s got a smaller, lower resolution screen and you can’t dunk it in your glass of Pimms, but it does have a light-up strip along the bottom and it’s also half the price!
Looks like a great deal, I was tempted. But it’s so close to the Google I/O I’m going to wait and see if a cheaper or ‘upgraded to the same price as last years’ Nexus 4 or 7 comes along as I think I’d prefer to spend my wonga on that… Sony are making nice kit these days though, only a matter of time until I get my hands on some I suppose.
