Which version of Android does it run? That’s one of most frequent questions asked of manufactures when they announce a new phone or tablet. It’s also used to gauge quite how good a deal is on some clearance website.
Every month Google collate the Android versions of every visitor to the Play Store. Every month the results worryingly show that most people use a version of Android from the end of 2010. But recently things have been changing, the numbers of people with Jelly Bean devices has been increasing. This month Jelly Bean is only just behind. Give it a few months and it will probably overtake Gingerbread.
Google have even made a nice pie chart showing the breakdown.
It shows a steady increase of new devices and updated devices.
