A few weeks ago Facebook opened up a new version of their Windows Phone app for beta testing and last night they have finally updated the original version to be inline with the beta version.
So what’s new in this update? Well Microsoft sum it up quite well in their blog post.
This major update brings a ton of new features and improvements that many of you have been asking for, including a complete overhaul of the user interface, improved navigation, support for high-res pictures, post sharing, Facebook Timeline view, and more. Grab the update from the Store and tell us what you think. (UPDATE: We’re also working to bring these features to the Windows Phone 7 version of the app later in the summer. Stay tuned.)
To make things a little more complicated Microsoft are continuing the beta testing program alongside the main app. So you can run both at once. Get the original app here and the beta test version here.
Personally I prefer this newer version, it is more in keeping with the Facebook app from other platforms and will help new users get to grips with it. But as always people don’t like change as you’ll see in the review section of the app.
