You know Example, but did you know that his real name is Elliot Gleave? Ooo.. bet you didn’t know that. Anyhoo, his next single is released on September 8th and it’s called “All The Wrong Places”. Y’know, the one that goes “I don’t know where we are, but can you bring me to here again?”
Well this, my friends, has a video (yes, I know) and it features the Sony Xperia Z quite a bit (ker-CHING). Now, just in case you miss the several dozen shots, we’ve carefully highlighted the phone so that you can see it..
So, Sony sent us a big press release about this. You can read that below. Basically some of the video was filmed on the phone and Sony would like you to know that it has a jolly nice 13 megapixel camera. Anyway, here’s the video…
XPERIA Z FROM SONY SHARES THE SCREEN WITH EXAMPLE
Flagship Sony smartphone features in ‘All the Wrong Places’ music video as part of Xperia Access
19th August 2013, LONDON: Sony has unveiled news that the Xperia Z appears in Example’s new ‘All the Wrong Places’ music video, with parts of the footage filmed through the smartphone’s 13MP lens.
Bringing together the best of Sony, the Xperia Z captures the extreme spectacle, which sees the Sony artist performing within a colossal human cage. The Xperia Z is first seen to capture documentary-style footage of people running through a dark alley, before cutting to shots of Example en route to his gig. At the climax of the track, the Xperia Z is again shown to film from various angles, with Example strapping the water resistant smartphone to his microphone, while hundreds of fans scramble to use their Xperia Z to capture the once-in-a-lifetime performance. The video also nods to Sony’s heritage in colour, with Example’s final performance dramatically detonating an explosion of confetti, which showers the crowd.
As part of the Xperia Access campaign from Sony, which gives Xperia fans exclusive behind-the-scenes access to their favourite Sony artists, Sony also gave one lucky winner the opportunity to feature in the music video, as well as meet Example himself.
Catherine Cherry, Director of Marketing for Sony Mobile North West Europe, comments: “Being able to work with a Sony artist such as Example gives us the chance to produce unique entertainment that truly sets us apart from our competitors. Putting the Xperia Z in the hands of Example and the crowd was a perfect way for us to illustrate how amazing moments can be captured using the smartphone’s 13MP camera and flawlessly remembered when played back through HD display.”
