The OPPO N1’s back before it’s arrived

The OPPO N1s back before its arrived

OPPO are making a big fuss about their new camera-centric phone, the N1. Only yesterday we reported that they had leaked a photo of a small part of the phone, along with a teasing advert showing a timeline of their previous products and a blank space where the N1 is destined to be.

Today ups the ante though, with a picture of a scantily clad woman.

OK, that’s pretty exciting in itself, but the wording is actually what’s getting those of us over the age of 15 worked up:

Don’t just touch the front, the back is also interesting…

Rear Touch Panel.
A brand new user experience

Now this isn’t the first time we’ve seen devices with a rear touch panel, most notably the Playstation Vita, but a mainstream phone with a rear touch panel is a real departure.

Quite what the purpose of the touch panel is we have no idea. The wording suggests it’s some sort of trackpad, perhaps to be used like one would on a laptop, rather than an actual screen.

Whatever it is, it’s certainly raising some eyebrows. It looks like OPPO are trying something truly innovative with the N1, not just a phone with a great camera. They could be walking that fine line between breaking new ground and making an expensive gimmick though.

I dare say we’ll see more leaks before the launch in September, but I know I’m not the only one who’s salivary glands are starting to get worked up over this one already.

What would you like to do with OPPO’s sensitive back?
