Chris Millington, Managing Director of Doro UK and Ireland commented on the launch: “The name Liberto was specifically chosen for our new smartphone as it sums up the essence of the device perfectly. In ancient Rome, servants and slaves of the empire could earn their full citizenship to become fully contributing members of society. Such people were known collectively as ‘the Liberto’. This new mobile helps people, who might be hesitant about using a smartphone, to fully embrace modern society. We are liberating those who perceive smartphones to be overly complicated and crowded with difficult-to-use apps. Our new mobile will bring them into a world of technology in a positive and engaged way.
We have fused deep consumer insight with the latest smartphone technology to create something so easy and effortless. We have made functions such as sharing photographs and sending emails easier. The combination of our easy-to-use philosophy and smartphone technology make this a truly unique product. It certainly offers much more to British consumers and network operators alike.”
The device offers a straightforward menu structure with sharp and crisp icons giving access to the most useful features. The Liberto’s ergonomic design, soft touch casing, comfortable size and weight, mean it can be handled and operated with confidence and ease.
The trio of physical keys located on the front screen further define the handset. This was one of the numerous outputs from Doro’s ongoing collaboration with Silicon Sentier – which identified that potential smartphone users clearly desire hard keys for back, home and menu navigation. These keys enable faster access and provide a positive tactile response when pressed.
An intelligent touchscreen keyboard powered by SwiftKey learns the nuances and preferences of the individual user. This is an inbuilt element adding to the phone’s overall ease of operation and has been adapted specifically for the audience. Doro believes if technology is easy-to-use and accessible, everyone regardless of age or ability can benefit from the opportunities it brings.
Users also benefit from choice and freedom of content, with access to Doro’s own selection of the best apps, or those downloadable from Google Play. In summary, the Doro Liberto 810 is a sophisticated and technologically advanced smartphone that integrates Doro’s core attribute ease-of-use through every aspect of its design, bringing joy to many.
Jérôme Arnaud, President and CEO at Doro concluded: “Our latest smartphone combines all the functionality of a mainstream handset with everything at the core of Doro. It is this very ‘DNA’ that has solidified us as the clear world-leader in easy-to-use mobile phones.”
