- Google’s latest must-have smartphone comes to O2 on 1 November
- Nexus 5 to feature on O2’s future-proof O2 Refresh tariff
- Nexus 5 runs Android KitKat 4.4 on a 5in screen with Snapdragon 800 processor
O2 today announces that it will be selling the Nexus 5 from this Friday, 1 November, and will be the only place on the UK high street to stock the 32GB version, as well as making it available online and over the phone. The Nexus 5 will be available on O2’s future-proof O2 Refresh tariff, from free on a £32 per month tariff, offering 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB of data.
“Google’s Nexus phones are absolute must-haves for Android fans and we’re proud to be bringing the newest Nexus to the UK,” said David Johnson, General Manager Devices for O2 in the UK. “With the latest version of Android and the latest technology built in, we know our customers will love it.”
O2’s future-proof O2 Refresh tariff works by splitting the amount a customer pays for their phone and the amount they pay for their minutes, texts and data, giving them complete transparency and control of their monthly spend.
By allowing customers to pay for their phone and airtime separately, O2 Refresh also makes it cheaper to either upgrade early by paying simply what is owed on the phone. Meanwhile customers who keep their phone for longer than 24 months will also pay less as, once the phone is paid off, only the cost of minutes, texts and data remain.
Nexus 5 is the slimmest and fastest Nexus phone ever made, with a 5in display and powered by Android 4.4 KitKat. Available in black or white, it has a Snapdragon 800 processor and built-in wireless charging. The new camera combines some of the power of a DSLR with the portability of a smartphone, featuring a new lens that captures more light for brighter nighttime pictures and sharper action shots. And you can search the whole web, just by speaking — say “Ok. Google” to trigger voice search from any screen.
