Google Play Music development has always been ahead on Android, unsurprisingly, but the iOS version has taken a big step forward to catching up with the latest update.
The first thing you’re likely to notice is the slightly updated user interface. This is to bring it in line with Apple’s iOS7 design guidelines, and is a good thing if you ask me (which you didn’t, but there you go).
More importantly there’s the inclusion of ‘I’m feeling lucky’ radio, which creates playlists based on the users’ previous listening history and library.
One can now search by genre, and genre specific radio stations are now available for All Access (premium) users.
Auto-playlists have been added to the playlist view, including the Thumbs Up playlist option.
Let’s hope that the iOS and Android versions of Google Play Music, indeed all Google apps, can stay at a similar level of development from now on, or could that be too much to ask Santa for?
