Back in September HTC decided to off-load their remaining shares in Beats. The action, which effectively ended their partnership with the company, brought in some much-needed cash and has meant that HTC narrowly avoided a second quarterly loss.
HTC reported their 2013 Q4 figures and made a net profit of NT$310 million, which works out at £6.3 million. According to Reuters, HTC made £51.81 million from selling their Beats shares, so you can see how things would’ve been if that money hadn’t been added to the pot.
HTC continue to make brilliant handsets and we’ll be watching them closely during Mobile World Congress to see what they have in store this year.
