Last year I’ll confess that my favourite phone was the Xperia Z1. Now it’s back, and this time the camera is better, it’s slimmer and it’ll let you record 4K (3840×2160) video while you’re under water, if that’s your thing.
It’s still got the style and IP58 waterproofing we saw on the Z1 but now there’s an even bigger display – a 5.2″ full HD Triluminos screen with “Live Colour LED”, which really is rather nice. The colours pop out at you, which makes the colours pop and every detail of pictures and video even clearer.
Vodafone have joined many other networks in announcing that they will be carrying the handset, which has a quad-core 2.3GHz and 3GB of RAM. I can’t say enough about that display though – the 5.2″ screen is gorgeous to look at and far better than the Z1, despite the resolution still being 1920×1080. The battery is bigger too – 3200mAh should keep you going for quite some time and there’s some very decent stereo speakers. You can also stick the phone into a very nice Bluetooth stand which produces some excellent sound.
You can get it from March in black, white, or purple.
