I thought the Z1 tablet was thin and light, but this cranks it up a notch. It’s really lightweight – almost fly-away – and keeps the familiar Sony styling. It’s still waterproof and still has a lot of the characteristics of the original Z1 Tablet, but now there’s a 2.3GHz quad-core CPU and inside you’ll find Android 4.4 KitKat.
Sony had these across the stand and were heavily pushing both the gaming and business aspects of the tablet – you can use it with the DualShock 3 controller now.
Oh and let’s not forget it’s waterproof..
The 1920×1200 pixel Triluminos display was again fantastically bright and vivid. The picture below was pin-sharp.
Around the back there’s an 8 megapixel camera and up front a 2.2-megapixel front camera. You get the Exmor R sensor for great low-light shots.
No pricing as yet, but they’ll be available in black or white. There’s a lovely keyboard that you can buy separately if you need that laptop-esque action 🙂
A small remote control also comes with the tablet. You can use this as a miniature handset to make and receive calls.
