It’s dawned on me that I’ve got three handsets here which are pretty interesting. I’m also aware that I’ve not published one of our “Week with” features for some time, so this could be an ideal combination.
In my possession I’ve got the HTC Desire 816, which has a capacious screen, good price-point and BoomSound tech. I’ve also got the HTC One M8, which has that aluminium construction and all the tech you could ever need.
Then… then I’ve got something here that I, as a self-confessed Android fan, never thought I’d have in this house. A Nokia Lumia 630. This thing is cheap – around £120 unlocked – and has a 4.5″ ClearBlack screen, 5 megapixel camera and 8GB storage.
I’m going to ditch my current phone and spend a week with each handset. There’ll be no backups, I’ll be doing my usual daily tasks on each.
Working from the top of the tech tree, I’ll be starting things off with the HTC One M8. It’s a handset I’ve not spent a huge amount of time with, so thanks to those nice people at Vodafone for loaning me this puppy. I know we’ve already written up a rather excellent HTC One M8 review, but this is my chance to give it a full and dirty test drive.
Next week I’ll switch to the HTC Desire 816 to see how this compares with the flagship, before diving into the world of Windows Phone on the Nokia Lumia 630.
As usual, I’ll keep you posted 😉
