Are you the owner of the universally liked Moto G handset ? If so it looks like this your lucky day. The latest update to the Android OS – KitKat 4.4.4 – is rolling out to devices.
The KitKat update has mainly been patches and bug fixes, but when it comes to Motorola-branded handsets, this upgrade is certainly appears worthwhile.
The update for the UK shares many of the new features we saw in other international devices. Owners will find an updated phone dialer and the ability to pause and restart video recordings.
One of the biggest added features is Motorola Alert. Once your device is updated, you’ll need to download the app from the Play Store. The app lets you set up periodic alerts that help the people you care about track your where-abouts. It features specific locations like home, work or school that automatically notify your stalkers loved ones of your departure and arrival. This can be used to notify friends and family where your phone is (once the alert is activated), by sending out periodic location-based alerts to those pre-confirmed contacts.
It looks like the update is now just being issued to Vodafone subscribers, and the roll out could take up to a week (or longer), to reach all the Moto G handsets out there. But it’s believed that the update could roll out to other Moto G handsets soon.
Let us know if your device been updated to Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and are you using Moto Alert .
