Samsung recently sent out invitations for it’s IFA event at the start of September where it is expected for them to announce the Note 4. According to Yon Hap News they may also announce the Gear Solo, a wearable smartwatch that is due to include a SIM card slot so users will be able to put a SIM card in and make calls directly from the device.
Whether this device will run Tizen software like the Gear Fit and Neo or be Android Wear like the Gear Live, which we may also see at the event in Berlin, remains to be seen. At the moment it is just a rumour but an interesting one. If it turns out to be true expect the Gear Solo to be a bit more expensive than previous models.
If you do have a SIM card in the device, it does raise the problem of having a second number or having to swap SIM cards between devices whenever you want to leave your phone at home.
