In news that will surprise and shock many, a new phone, which is rather large, will bend if you sit on it for long periods of time. The iPhone 6 Plus, which has a 5.5″ screen and costs a minimum of £619, is reportedly bending in pockets and seems to “kink” at a possible weak point by the volume buttons.
Either that or owners of the thin-but-expensive device are putting it their back pocket, sitting on it, then moaning that it’s not defied the laws of physics. One owner has decided to complete break his iPhone 6 Plus just to demonstrate this. Look away now…
A number of tweets have now mentioned the iPhone 6 Plus problem, and it’s even made headlines as owners have complained that theirs has a kink in it. The size of the phone, plus the aluminium construction and flatness of the device, is thought to be contributing to the problem.
That and the fact that people are sitting on them.
So, obvious news alert, if you want to damage a sizeable phone which is made from aluminium and costs up to nearly £900, stick it in a tight pair of jeans and sit down for a few hours. Then complain on Twitter a lot hoping you’ll get a replacement.
Or, spend a tiny bit extra and get yourself a cover.
Perhaps it’s just me, but here’s a gallery of bent iPhone 6 Plus handsets…
