Along with the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 announced yesterday, Google also told us about a brand new device called the Nexus Player.
The Nexus Player is an Android TV device that has a 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor at its heart, has onboard wi-fi and connects to your tv via HDMI, It has full Google Cast technologies (thus doing away for need for a Chromecast)
The full specs are as follows:
- PowerVR Series 6 GPU,
- 1GB RAM,
- 8GB storage,
- Bluetooth 4.0,
- Wi-Fi a/b/g/n,
- microUSB port
- HDMI 1080p out (confirmed).
Also included is a bluetooth remote with microphone for voice searching whilst an optional extra is a gamepad which we have no extra information for.
Pre orders start in the US on 17th October with availability set for 3rd November. US retail price is $99 but as ever there is no word yet as to worldwide or UK availability or pricing.
