Last night I was using the Sky+ app to remove some of the 810 episodes of Family Guy I’ve recorded (no seriously, have a look below…)
Anyhow, I noticed a new feature which might not actually be new but is really wrote useful. To be honest I probably missed this feature until I found the Sky box moaning about a lack of disk space.
Put it this way, if you’ve snapped some photos on your phone and you want to see these shots on your TV screen then you’ve got a few choices. You could buy a dongle like the Chromecast or you could try and figure out how your TV’s DLNA / Screen Mirroring / Screen Cast / TV Beam / Picture Transfer or whatever-the-heck-it’s-called works.
Now, if you’ve got the latest Sky+ app (iOS version here and Android version here) you can simply connect it over your WiFi to your Sky box and select the picture from your phone. It’ll then magically appear on your TV screen. No faffing about with any other doo-hickeys or trying to find that TV manual so you can figure out how to use that Smart TV. Sounds good to me, and here it jolly well is in action..
