MWC – Lenovo announce some new tablets

Lenovo didn’t have an event today but it did not stop them from announcing the launch of two new tablets, in their mid tier non Yoga range. I reviewed the Tab A8 recently and found that I was fighting above its weight so there is absolutely now reason to presume that the newer Tab 2 lines will be any different.

First up we have the smaller tablet the A8. This is the follow up to the one I reviewed at the end of last year. The big improvement that I can see is that the Tab 2 as the addition of front facing speakers which are a great addition to what was already a really good device. Lets dive into the specs a bit further.

  • HD 1280 X 800 IPS Display
  • Dolby ATMOS 3D Surround Sound
  • Multi-speaker Front Facing Speakers
  • 64-bit MTK 1.3Ghz Quad Core Processor
  • 1GB LPDDR3 RAM
  • 4200mAh, up to 8 hours battery Life
  • 2MP FF front / 5MP AF rear Cameras
  • 25mm (H) x 210 mm(W) x 8.9mm(D)
  • Weight: 330-gram

Atmos speakers are something that Lenovo seem to pushing this year and this tablet is no different as it is fully present and correct here. Inside we have  8GB of storage and a 4200mah battery, this should keep you going for a fair amount of time. It also has a clean version of Lollipop installed on it which is first for Lenovo and is very welcome indeed. All of this for the great price of £129 in June it will come in Blue, Pink, Ebony and White. This would be great table for the light user who demands mobility over screen size.

Moving on to the bigger  Tab 2 A10. We have a 10″ FHD screen with a Soundbar experience. The MediaTek Quad Core processor provides smooth and responsive performance (the same as in the A8) and the 7200mAh battery capacity last for up to 10 hours of uninterrupted usage. At 9mm thin and weighing less than 500-grams, this tablet is easy to take anywhere or move around the home.  Bundle in the same Atmos technology that we are seeing across the range and this is going to make a fantastic multimedia tool for the user.MWC Lenovo announce some new tablets
