An octa-core 64-bit 1.2GHz CPU and 2GB of RAM in a smartphone costing les than £150? Sound good? Well, we’ve already had Honor win over the chaps at Three, who are to offer the Honor 6+ exclusively, but if you’re after another 4G smartphone with the same screen and a (slightly) slower CPU, the Honor 4X is worth a look.
Amazon have it listed for £144.99 with free delivery if you pre-order it and it’ll start shipping on April 17th. Specs include that 5.5″ 1280×720 HD screen (267ppi), 8GB of storage and a microSD slot for up to another 32GB. Around back there’s a 13 megapixel shooter with autofocus and LED flash plus, up front, a 5 megapixel shooter.
It seems to be running Android 4.4 with the EmotionUI 3.0 on top and includes all the usual WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and a raft of sensors with a 3000mAh battery.
Now yes, it’s running KitKat, but Honor “regular software updates allow you to be amongst the first to experience Android 5.0 Lollipop”. I had a quick play with this in Barcelona and it seemed to have a great camera plus that battery life, according to those on the stand, stretched to two days.
For £145 it could be worth a punt, so head over to Amazon to check it out.
