The Apple Watch has been with us for several months now and although reviews are, on the whole, positive that hasn’t stopped it coming under fire, particularly over its battery life and price. Initial sales figures were exceptionally high but a new survey has suggested that these have now dropped by over 90%. According to the survey, which is based on the email receipts that Apple issues, daily sales in the US have dropped from 200,000 a day to under 10,000:
Statistics can always be skewed, and sales figures often slow down after an initial burst of enthusiasm. Perhaps more alarmingly is the fact that over 2/3rds of all Apple Watches are the ‘cheaper’ (ie not actually that cheap) Sport model. Whether this trend is replicate outside the US is anyone’s guess, but certainly it suggests that the sales figures are nowhere near as high as Apple had hoped.
