Well, no big launch event for this particular handset. It’s billed as a mid-range smartphone and features a Snapdragon 1.2GHz quad-core CPU with a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front one.
It’s the successor to the HTC Desire 620, which was basically an upgraded HTC Desire 610 with a bigger screen.
The 626 has a lot of the goodies you’ve grown to expect from HTC, including the HTC BlinkFeed system for putting all your social media feeds into one place. There’s also the HTC Eye Experience to edit shots and add image effects
Powered by Android 5.1, there’s a 5″ LCD screen, 16GB on-board storage and a microSD slot for up to 512GB more.
The Desire 626 will be available in White Birch, Blue Lagoon, Purple Fire and Dark Grey. Yes, crazy colour names. The usual WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth features are there and you can buy it from O2 and 3 or head down to Carphone Warehouse.
Pricing hasn’t been revealed just yet and we’re waiting to see when this will hit the shops. Strangely, the US HTC website lists the 626 with completely different camera specs.
