According to a leaked image posted on social networking site Weibo, the next new processor from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 820 (which is expected to be launched later this month) is 35% faster than the current leader the Snapdragon 810.
Right here’s the geeky bit.
- The 820’s newer Hydra CPU is apparently 35 percent faster than the 810.
- Adreno 530 graphics processor is 40 percent faster while also being 30 percent more power efficient.
- The new chip’s 14-nanometer manufacturing process should also make it more efficient than the 20nm Snapdragon 810.
Now to me and you the user in the street, we will probably see very little, if any improvement over the current high-end processor. But it does mean that developers will be able to produce apps and games that can use all the grunt that this new chip can provide.
