Meet the ZUK Z1 – a handset to be sold online by Lenovo. Going on sale on August 18th, this is a new brand of handset designed to try and fend off the rise and rise of Xiaomi in China. It’ll sell for CNY 1,799, which is around £179.32, but we don’t have any details on whether it’ll be available outside China just yet.
Although Lenovo are behind the handset, you won’t see any branding on this one – only the ZUK logo.
The Z1 has a 5.5″ 1080×1920 full HD screen and that rectangular home button up front. Other details include a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core CPU with 3GB RAM and a stonking 64GB of internal storage plus a USB Type-C 3.0 port. It’ll run Android 5.1.1 and has a Sony 13 megapixel rear camera with OIS to supplement the 8 megapixel front shooter. Available in white or grey it has a 4100mAh battery and the model we held supports selected 4G bands with WIFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and it has the Cyanogen OS Preview 12.1 running on it with an Android M-esque launched.
