This is a different sort of wearable.
It’s winter, the cold weather is on the way and most of us will turn to hats to keep our heads warm. Trouble is, hats make it difficult to listen to our music using traditional headphones.
What’s that I hear you say?
“If only there was a hat with built in speakers”?
Enter Kitvision and their Winter Collection range of audio equipped headwear.
The Kitvision Winter Collection comes in three styles; a beanie hat, a head band and ear muffs. Each are designed to be fashionable and stylish.
The beanie hat would, I suggest, be most appropriate for our male readers out of the three different styles. Whilst the head band and ear muffs are definitely aimed at the female stylish market and I’m told they are stylish indeed.
There’s built-in speakers which sit over your ears, a built-in audio jack and a detachable fabric-covered audio cable. The internal speakers don’t make the headwear uncomfortable to wear, in fact without any music playing you wouldn’t know these weren’t normal hats.
So they look and feel the part, but importantly how do they sound?
Actually they all sound pretty good, especially the ear muff version. The beanie hat and head band appear to have similar internal components, they certainly sound alike and both sound, unsurprisingly, akin to standard mid range ear bud style headphones.
With a design more akin to traditional headphone, the Ear Muffs would seem to be a more natural fit to delivering high quality music and indeed the internal 40mm drivers do a very good job of delivering high quality, bassy audio. I’m also told that the design of the ear muffs are less likely to cause ‘hat hair’ – not to mention that they feel great.
Headwear with integrated speakers is a great idea and the Kitvision implementation in their Winter Collection is very good indeed.
