Yes, it’s that time of year again and we’re all a little bit short on cash right now. I think this year I’ve been a little too sensible and I’ve actually bought all my gifts already, meaning that my bank balance – and any cash set aside for going out to celebrate – has taken a hammering.
I have a couple of ways to get some spare change. The first is to go into “my special drawer”. In my home, as the man of the house, I seem to have all of my gadgets and “man stuff” put into one drawer. My wife seems to get the rest of the house, and I just get this one drawer. In the drawer today I have found a couple of old phones. Can you guess what they are?
The one on the left is the Intel-powered Orange San Diego, whilst the one on the right is the T-Mobile myTouch, which I used for absolutely ages because of that slide-out keyboard. Even with the advent of swipe-style on-screen keyboards, I was a long-time fan of the physical keyboard, and could type at quite a pace with my thumbs on this thing. Great for emails and I used to use it instead of a BlackBerry. Both of these can earn me money if I sell them through recycle.coolsmartphone.com or if I whack them on eBay. Someone on eBay will buy them, even if they are a little battered and bruised. You’ll be surprised 🙂
Another way to treat yourself (without having to raid your precious man-gadgets) is to grab the Google Opinion Rewards app. This one is Android-only because you actually earn yourself Google Play credits. It’s a simple-enough idea. You just tell the app how old you are, what job you have, where you live, how much you earn and it’ll then give you some surveys to answer. The first one may well be a test survey, which you fill in just to configure the system. I’ve earned a few pounds doing this and, whilst it’s not going to make me rich, it’ll pay for some nice apps and paid-for games within the Google Play store. Always a nice little treat for myself or a way to get the “full version” of games for my kids.
If you are forced out to the shops then Yoobic (iOS or Android) is a way for you to earn money by ranking in-shop displays and products. You can earn yourself £4-8 for a few minutes of work. A similar app is called Streetspotr and you can earn £5 or more by completing tasks such as buying a drink. If you’re in a high street often, this may start paying you well. Likewise, Swagbucks lets you complete online tasks and pays in gift cards or PayPal cash.
For the clever gamblers, you can earn yourself some serious bonus cash by comparing the various websites and apps out there. As everything is going mobile now, it’s probably best to head to mobileonlinecasinos.co.uk. This site will show all the mobile casinos, their compatibility, the bonus you receive, a full rating and just how many games you can play. There’s a full comparison system here and the best provider for each and every category.
If all else fails, let’s hope Santa brings you something nice 🙂
