The big sell here is that the new 4G SIM-only plans now have inclusive calls and texts when you’re in the EU, however some plans have become more expensive after the initial promotional period. The image they’ve sent us is a tad small, but the discounted deals are for three months, whereupon some become £1 more expensive than they were before these changes. These are all 12 month offerings and you can see exactly what has changed in our earlier story.
Put simply, after the 3 month promo period expires..
– The previous 2GB per month deal becomes £1 more expensive (was £16.99, now £17.99)
– The previous 4GB per month deal becomes £1 more expensive (was £20.99, now £21.99)
– The previous 6GB per month deal becomes £1 more expensive (was £23.99, now £24.99)
However you do now have a choice a new 8GB and 16GB package, plus they’ve added European roaming.
As this is EE, you get a very decent 4G footprint and speeds of up to 60Mbps if you choose one of the 4GEE deals.

The new 4GEE Extra 12 month SIM plans now come with unlimited minutes and texts when in the EU* as well as in the UK, meaning customers can make calls and text on holiday just like they can at home. Customers who choose a 4GEE Extra plan will also receive double speed 4G with speeds of up to 60Mbps.
To celebrate the launch, customers signing up to a new 12 month EE Extra SIM plan before 22nd March, through EE stores, the EE online shop or EE telesales will also receive three-months half price line rental.
