Based on the details we’ve seen on the web and our own experiences, this is how the big Samsung event will probably pan out. On Sunday you’ll have a HUGE launch in Barcelona for the new Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. Both handsets will, probably, be as premium and well-built as the Galaxy S6, but with the re-introduction of the waterproof protection and yes, even that microSD card support we had on the Galaxy S5.
As the launch reaches a crescendo, we’ll see some “reviews” go online at a set time, written by the big tech sites after they signed lots of things beforehand. They’ll no doubt have stacks of photos and video because they’ve been allowed the handsets before anyone else.
However.. we already know what the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will look like, and here’s an exclusive picture.
As you can see, they have a very similar (some would say the same) design as the existing Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. The S7 brothers are said to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will have that waterproof IP rating we hinted at earlier. The S7 is said to have a 2800 mAh battery and a 12 megapixel camera.
The shot above was sent to us anonymously, but we’re hearing that EE will be selling the Galaxy S7 for £44.99 per month with a £49.99 up-front cost. Existing EE customers will get 10GB of data per month instead of 4GB. We’re also hearing that the actual availability date will be March 11th but, if you pre-order it from the network before March 6th, you’ll be able to have it three days earlier than anyone else.
A video has also surfaced on the web showing the S7 in action…
More as we get it, but don’t forget that we’ll be LIVE in Barcelona on Sunday with all the latest news. Just follow us on Twitter for all the very latest news from Mobile World Congress 2016.
