HTC ANNOUNCES VR RETAIL PARTNERS, BRINGING VIVE TO THE HIGH STREET
HTC partners with UK retailers to bring VR into stores from 17th March 2016
London, UK – 17th March 2016 – HTC Corporation (“HTC”), a pioneer in innovative, smart technologies, today announced their virtual reality system, ViveTM will be heading to retail stores across the UK, making it the first complete VR system to hit the high street for hands-on demonstration and pre-order.
The retail partners announced today include Dixons Carphone plc, Europe’s leading specialist electrical and telecommunications retailer, and PC component specialists, Overclockers UK and Scan Computers International Ltd. From 17th March 2016, ViveTM will be available for hands-on demonstration and pre-order in participating stores across the UK, with the product reaching consumers from May 2016. Each store location will boast a ViveTM demonstration station, fully open to the general public for individual sessions to experience a host of virtual reality content supported by the platform. Consumers will be able to pre-order ViveTM following an in-store demonstration, directly from each retailer.

Priced at £689, ViveTM is the first complete VR solution, including wireless VR controllers, room scale movement, and HMD featuring a built in camera. For a limited time, ViveTM will also ship with three fully-fledged VR experiences: Tilt Brush (Google), Fantastic Contraption (Northway Games in collaboration with Radial Games) and Job Simulator: The 2050 Archives (Owlchemy Labs).
