D3O have created a new GEAR4 Black range of ultra tough phone cases. This is the first case with injection mouldable D3O and is specialist grade with no holes. This type of D3O has not apparently been seen before and is the strongest on the market. GEAR4 are also the first to do colour and metallics according to the press release. D3O materials in their raw state flow freely when moved slowly, but on shock, lock together to absorb and disperse energy, before instantly returning to their flexible state. This reaction is counter intuitive. The greater the force of the impact, the more the molecules lock together and the greater the protection.
