iFit introduced a huge array of new gadgets at the Gadget Show Live event last March for keeping tabs on your world of fitness and sleep. We reported directly from the event here and specifically about this watch we have to review the iFit Classic. Here is a video of my initial thoughts.
Design
For somebody who is used to wearing smart devices, this watch felt massive but very rugged. The strap was designed to be strong and it needed to be to hold the watch itself. I couldn’t help feel I wanted the watch face to be doing a lot more as we have come to expect with most smartwatches. Equally so, the watch had two side buttons which seemed fairly redundant and the instructions were not clear to their purpose apart from taking the watch out of shipping mode.
Usability
The watch is highly dependent on the iFit application otherwise, the watch face gives you an indication of how many steps you have made and how close you are to your daily target. I personally didn’t like the target dial, it felt once you got behind there was an uphill struggle from there on in. If you are super active all day long or constantly on your feet and don’t have time to play with a watch, then this device is ideal for you.
Summary
This is solid watch for those constantly on the move but this wasn’t for me as I like to interact with my smartwatches. I am personally looking forward to the iFit Exec which offers the best of both worlds.
