With inexpensive handsets entering the market from the likes of OnePlus, WileyFox and co, the proposition of entering a SIM only contract is far more appealing to your pocket as oppose to signing up to 24-month handset contracts. Recently my 24-month contract ended on EE but I have actually been using the OnePlus Two for six months as I gave up with the HTC One M8 which I was contracted due to the known memory issues. 24-month contracts are increasingly frustrating the consumer, with handsets simply not lasting 24-months! Well the lovely lady at EE told me that she dealt with lots of customers leaving handset contracts for SIM only deals. The deal I got was 12-months, limited minutes and SMS messages plus 8gb of data for £19.99 as oppose to £27.99. I was paying £43.99 before the recent change! New customers or customers leaving handset contacts can sign up for this deal before 27th September 2016. Customers who take out these deals can take out Apple Music for free for six months followed by another six months at £9.99.
Vodafone has also launched three new SIM only contracts, similar to EE but with lots more data. The £17 contract includes 8gb of data plus 500mb of roaming data. Again Vodafone, like EE offer an entertainment pack but for 12-months on their £25 tariff.
