Heard of Fossil Watches? Misfit are part of the same group, and today they’ve launched a smartwatch that looks like an analogue watch. It’s rather lovely as well.
You’re fed all the information via the watch face itself, which acts as a user interface and provides information via “an interplay of the watch hands, a small colour window and vibration alerts”. Your app notifications, calls and text messages are delivered to the watch along with sedentary alerts. Not only that, but you can use the watch to take photos on your phone, control your music and interact with smart home devices.
Charging it daily? You can forget about that. There’s a six-month battery life and 50 meters water resistance too.
Cutting-edge Connectivity Meets Classic Watch Design in New Misfit Phase Hybrid Smartwatch
BURLINGAME, CA embargo 18th October, 2016 —Today Misfit announced Misfit Phase Hybrid Smartwatch, an advanced timepiece that merges the design of an analogue watch with the functionality of a smartwatch. Classically inspired but with cutting-edge connectivity, Misfit Phase leverages a sleek and simple design to conceal technology that is uniquely wearable.
The newest addition to Misfit’s portfolio of design-forward wearables, Misfit Phase tracks steps, distance, and sleep duration and quality using a 3-axis accelerometer and Misfit’s rigorously validated algorithms and scientific library. The watch face acts as a subtle user interface for notifications and feedback. Users can view activity, alarm and notification data using an interplay of the watch hands, a small colour window and vibration alerts. Text, call, app notifications, and movement reminders are discreetly delivered straight to a user’s wrist.
Misfit Phase also works as a remote to connect with the world around you. Use Phase to control your music, take pictures with your phone, and interact with smart home devices, all with the touch of a button. Misfit Phase automatically updates to reflect current time zone, and, like other Misfit products, features six-month battery life, 50 meters water resistance, and modular design.
“We’re thrilled to launch Misfit Phase, which employs Misfit’s energy efficient, miniaturised Bluetooth enabled technology in a traditional watch form factor,” said Preston Moxcey, General Manager of Misfit. “Watches are the fashion-credible predecessor of wearable technology, and Misfit Phase showcases both the evolution of the wearable technology space and its convergence with the world of fashion accessories.”
Misfit Phase’s design celebrates the finest in watch craftsmanship, with an elegant polished stainless steel body secured by a rugged satin aluminium shroud. Integrated lugs enable infinite style options with any 20mm field-band, including Misfit-designed straps. The result is a modern, iconic accessory that is appropriate for any occasion.
Misfit Phase will be offered in 6 colour ways, starting at £165, and will be available for purchase on misfit.com.
