Look ma, no notch!
A company called “HTC” (you may remember them) have just had their new baby leaked all over the web by @evleaks. Not only is there a set of images..
…but we also have the full specs, courtesy of an “under embargo” document which was also leaked at the same time.
This one has a “Liquid Surface” and weighs 188g with measurements being 156.6 x 73.9. It’s also somewhere between 8.7mm and a chunky 9.7mm thick depending on “manufacturing tolerance”. Hmm.. that’s a pretty big tolerance. It’s IP68 water and dust resistant and comes with Android 8.0 plus the HTC Sense GUI. There’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 64-but 2.6GHz CPU at the helm and 6GB of RAM plus either 64GB or 128GB of storage depending on the model. A microSD slot is also available to boost that space further.
The screen is a 6″ 2800×1440 18:9 unit at ~537ppi and has Corning Gorilla Glass plus colour personalisation. Around back, a 12 megapixel (f/1.75) and 16 megapixel (f/2.6) camera sit side-by-side to do wide-angle and telephoto duties respectively. Up front it a dual 8 megapixel camera with bokeh, AR stickers and all the usual selfie goodies.
The HTC U12+ carries USonic for Active Noise Cancellation and HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi with aptX HD audio.
There’s also GPS, WiFi, 4G, NFC and USB Type C. It’s going to charge the 3,500 mAh battery up to 50% in 35 minutes thanks to the Quick Charge.
We’ll know more on May 23rd when this is officially announced. Until then, here’s the full details…
