With OnePlus announcing their latest flagship, the 6T, recently there have been a series of ‘pop-up’ locations where people can get hands on the latest OnePlus have to offer.
Over 800 people attended the London experience, and with Carl Pei making an appearance, you even had the chance to get your device signed.
Fans were so keen to get hands on the 6T, one person travelled from Ireland on the Monday and waited until Wednesday to be one of the first to purchase the device.
In total 11 cities hosted pop-up locations with over 4,500 people attending, a huge success for a company making a big impact in the smartphone market.
This is the first time a OnePlus device will be available via multiple retailers thanks to a deal with EE, O2, Vodafone, Carphone Warehouse and John Lewis stores.
The OnePlus 6T goes on sale on the 6th November here in the UK.
Fans travel miles for UK’s OnePlus 6T pop-up
Thousands take part in launch event, pop-up stores and pop-up events across 12 countries and 31 cities
London November 5 – Last Wednesday (October 31st), OnePlus fans were given an opportunity to get their hands on OnePlus 6T a week early. The London pop-up, held in Bond St, saw people queuing from 5am in anticipation of the new device. Over 800 community members joined us to see OnePlus 6T in action, have their phones signed by Carl Pei, and get their hands on the new phone. One individual had travelled over from Ireland on Monday and waited until Wednesday eagerly to buy the handset. Others had travelled from Brighton, Birmingham and Manchester. The OnePlus 6T goes on sale to the wider public tomorrow, 6th November.
In Europe over 4,500 people attended the biggest range of pop-up events ever hosted, across 11 cities; London, Berlin, Milan, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona and across France in Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lyon and Toulouse. The pop-up in New York saw 700 people take over a corner of Times Square to be the first in the world to buy the OnePlus 6T.
OnePlus launch events are all about community and the keynote event last week saw over 1,200 fans in New York witness the unveiling in-person. For those that weren’t able to attend, livestreams of the event saw over 6 million people tune-in from around the world. In the lead-up to the launch, people had the opportunity to win OnePlus devices for life, including OnePlus 6T, by simply tapping their phone screens. Unlock Your Speed saw the winner tap over 12 million times and the more than 500,000 players collectively tap 10 billion times during the campaign.
