I’ll be honest, this popped up the internet last month but we were a little busy with Mobile World Congress at the time. This, then, is what you can hopefully expect to see on your Google Maps in a few months time. Right now it’s only available to a select few who are testing it but, as you can see, adding the augmented reality aspect really does help.
I’m sure I can speak for many when I mention how moderately daft you feel when you walk the wrong way down a footpath, usually in a bit city where the GPS signals are bouncing all over the place, only to have to turn around. The current Google Maps doesn’t give you a clear idea of which way you’re pointing when you’re walking – not unless you’ve moved forward a bit – so this new version can’t come soon enough for me 🙂
