A partnership with streaming gaming provider “Hatch”, 5G roll-out plans and pricing. It’s all here from Vodafone today. They’ve also announced two 5G-ready handsets – the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and Xiaomi Mi MIX 3.
No Huawei 5G phones. The pricing, according to Voda, is the same as 4G. This is different to the higher EE prices we saw yesterday.
If you’re going to make us of that 5G data-bucket, you’re going to be looking at £54 per month for a 15GB plan on the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. That said, 5G speeds look to be 10x faster than 4G.
Vodafone will be selling the 6GB memory / 128 GB storage version in Onyx Black with a £49 upfront payment on that deal. If you want to see the handset up-close, take a look at our earlier item on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3. Don’t forget, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is available to get right now here. No waiting like the Galaxy S10 5G.
Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 running up to 2.8GHz, it also has an Adreno 630 GPU running up to 710MHz. It also gets a USB-C two-way charging port, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, WiFi, 4G and 5G. There’s also a fingerprint sensor. At the back you’ll also find two 12 megapixel shooters. Up front, a 24 megapixel and a 2 megapixel arrangement. Get the full details on that phone here.
Also, if you visit that page you can head to the bottom and check your 5G coverage. Here’s Birmingham right now..
You might notice above that Grand Central is covered heavily and we saw the 5G trials there just last month. Head to their network checker tool directly to see your coverage.
Here’s a look at those prices then, and this includes promotional pre-order pricing on the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G (from £58 per month)..

The big switch-on is July 3rd, with 19 towns and cities covered by the end of the year. Right now you’ll get 5G in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool and London. They’ll also be doing 5G roaming and that Hatch partnership I mentioned. This is the first cloud-based mobile gaming service in the world to be built for the 5G network. It’ll deliver instant play, no adverts, no buffering, no downloading. So no precious space used on your phone and live gaming across the speedy 5G network. From July 3rd, Pay monthly customers get three months access to Hatch Premium at no extra cost. If you want to continue, it’s £6.99 a month.
