In continuation of my current obsession with all things wearable, I have just seen that Xiaomi has announced their latest Band product in the form of the Mi Smart Band 4.
This is a departure from the previous designs in that it now has a full-colour AMOLED display. It will now allow you to display all your tracked data on the screen and will also include Swim Tracking or SWOLF as it is known.
The screen will support notifications, messages and fitness stats all in glorious colour meaning you can see where things are at with nought but a glance at the screen.
The battery is now estimated to last for 20 days which is down a bit from the last gen Mi Band 3 but this is acceptable given the screen.
The Band will also support sleep tracking and smart alarm functionality. This will wake you at the least intrusive part of your sleep cycle within a preset time window. it is something that I used on my Pebble Time and I have missed on the TicWatch’s that I am currently testing.
The device will work with either Android devices on 4.4 or above and also with iOS 9.0 and above. This makes it a great and inexpensive option for those wanting a cheaper alternative than a Fitbit or Galaxy Fit style device.
It will be available later this summer from the Mi Store and will cost £34.99. We will be looking to get one in to test as soon as they become available.
