We’ve taken a look at a couple of sub-£100 phones recently. Both from Nokia – the Nokia 1 Plus for £69.95 and the Nokia 2.2, which will apparently be £99.99. However, if you head to your local Argos you can get a lot more phone for your money.
It’s the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro we saw last year. It has two rear cameras, a 12 megapixel and a 5 megaxpixel. It also has a front 13 megapixel shooter for selfies. Added to that is that fact that it has SLR-Level bokeh and AI Face Beauty, which obviously I don’t need because I’m handsome. Strangely we were told during our hands-on that the front shooter was 20 megapixels, so there’s a bit of a disparity between the published specs on the Argos website.
It’s got dual SIM slots and comes with a 5.99″ screen at 403ppi. That’s 1020 x 2160 pixel at 18:9 screen. This also has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, plus a microSD slot for more.
Powered by an octa-core 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, this also has a respectable 4000mAh battery, plus dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, fingerprint scanner and headphone port.
The price for all that? Well, right now it’s down to just £99.95. That, I have to say, is a bargain. Here’s a look at it in action…
