It seems just five minutes ago that we were at IFA for the launch of the Xperia 5. Now is the time to pre-order if you like the look of it, and you can get some free award-winning WF-1000XM3 noise cancelling headphones too.
The Xperia 5 comes with Android 9 Pie and will launch in the UK on Friday, October 4th. It’s a more compact, pocket-friendly version of the Xperia 1 but comes with a whole heap of tech goodness including a 21:9 CinemaWide 6.1″ Full HD+ OLED display and Bravia TV wizardry.
Around back is a triple lens camera (16mm, 26mm and 52mm lenses) and there’s Dolby Atmos sound, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C plus PS4 Remote Play.
It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 CPU and has water resistance, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and an 8 megapixel selfie shooter. There’s 6GB RAM and 128GB of on-board storage plus a microSD slot for more.
A quick scout round shows the Xperia 5 available on EE, Carphone Warehouse, FoneHouse and Amazon selling it – expect to pay £699 if you’re forking out in one go. If you pre-order and want the headphones, you need to go to EE or Carphone Warehouse.
