This morning my wife jabbed me as I lay snoring.
“Someone has tried to find my location. Someone knows where I am!”
It had happened about 6AM and I just assumed that her Samsung or Google account had been hacked, with someone activating the “Find my phone” feature. However, it turns out that she wasn’t alone – many more people received this message, which appears to be a “mistake” by Samsung.
Got a mysterious find my mobile notification. Was scared that someone tried to track me but it seems thousands of people got this? @SamsungMobile what's happening pic.twitter.com/g2NxB1ZjCT

Samsung have stated to us this morning that this was the result of a test that had “gone wrong” and it appeared on a “limited number” of devices. Now, by the looks of Twitter today – the “limited number” is actually quite a large number.
The company have apologised after the message appeared on devices with the Samsung Find My Mobile app installed. The notification didn’t reveal a great deal and nothing would happen when you clicked it.
