If I think about a Bond film, I nearly always think about Sony Ericsson or just Sony phones. The franchise has long used “product placement” but today it’s the turn of the HMD Global Nokia phones. They’ll be featured in the upcoming “No Time To Die” movie, which has recently been pushed back to November because of the rather awkward name in the middle of a global virus outbreak.
In truth, there’s more reasons. A lot of cinemas in major markets such as Italy, South Korea, China and Japan have been closed and the people releasing the movie want to make as much money as possible and / or ensure people are safe depending on how you look at it.
Anyway, where was I? Right, so although the movie has been pushed back, Nokia are eager to let you know that their phones will be in the film and an upcoming advert which will be aired in a couple of days time. That global marketing campaign will star Lashana Lynch as Agent Nomi in an ad entitled “The Only Gadget You’ll Ever Need”.
A secret unnamed 5G smartphone will be unveiled and a new range of Nokia phones can be seen in the flesh on March 19th in London.
Lashana Lynch told us..
My first phone was actually a Nokia 3210 when I was about ten years old. In retrospect, it was my smartphone of the 90’s. Being able to change the buttons and faces, whilst playing Snake blew my mind! So, after seeing how much Nokia smartphones have evolved over the years from my childhood to now, it’s exciting to play Nomi who helps unveil a new smartphone for this iconic brand.
We’ll be adding the advert here when it gets released, so stay tuned!
