Kogan. It’s not a brand we are too familiar with here in the UK, as noted by Leigh’s last article on the last Kogan Agora Smartphone but it is a brand more well-known over in Australia. Well they have now released a 4G version of the original Kogan Agora from 2013 priced at £149 plus delivery of £25 and any associated import duties and tax which is made in partnership with Benq. But at the £149 price it’s a good close contender with the Moto G. Here’s the specs of the Agora 4G:
Display – 5” HD IPS Display 1280×720 (Meaning PPI of 293 PPI)
Processor – 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU (ARM Cortex A7)
Graphics Processor – Adreno 305
Memory – 1GB RAM
Storage – 8GB
Micro SD Card Slot – YES up to 64GB
Camera – 8MP Rear, 2MP Front
Battery – 2520mAh
OS – Android 4.4 KitKat
Dimensions – 14.3 x 7.3 x 0.9cm
Weight – 135g
Connectivity – 2G, 3G, 4G, Bluetooth 4.0 EDR, GPS, Micro Sim, USB 2.0, 802.11 b/g/n
This looks over all like it could be a really good device and is almost the same specs as the Moto G, albeit with a larger display but lower PPI, and has a Micro SD Card Slot. at £149 it is well priced but soon as you add on the £25 postage and possible taxes and import duties it goes up to nearly £200 which sadly is a little out of the price bracket it should be in.
