A projector isn’t something you’ll see covered a great deal here. Yes, there’s projectors that you can connect your phone to etc, but this puppy is really quite interesting because inside there’s a Chromecast dongle.
Acer have strapped one inside of this so that you can watch Netflix, iPlayer, NOW TV, YouTube, Blinkbox and all manner of other streaming services on your lounge wall in huge cinema-scope mega-vision. In addition it can stream your audio to a wireless Bluetooth headset, a Bluetooth speakers or a sound bar, so you can literally setup anywhere quickly and create your own mobile cinema. Pretty nifty.
Yes OK, it’s €999 (around £782), but it will give you a 100 INCH SCREEN to look at.
The projector also has the other usual methods of connecting, so there’s three HDMI ports and two with MHL for charging your phone or tablet. HD Visuals and DTS Sound is also included as part of the deal.

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 3, 2015 — Acer today revealed its Acer H7550ST, a powerful projector that delivers brilliant Full HD visuals and dynamic 20W stereo audio with short-throw and wireless versatility. It’s the world’s first projector to provide internal Chromecast wireless dongle compatibility. The Acer H7550ST will be on display at Pepcom’s Digital Experience! Event on Jan. 5th at The Mirage in Las Vegas.
The new Acer H7550ST projects clear and wide images of up to 2.5 m (100-inches) diagonally from as little as 1.5 meter from the screen thanks to short-throw technology, a high 3,000 lumens brightness and a native 16:9 aspect ratio. Due to its ability to project a large picture from a short distance, it’s perfect for consumers who will be using the projector from the comfort of home for enjoying movies, games and karaoke, even within smaller rooms. It’s also a great option for educators for projecting lessons in the classroom.
For added convenience, a hidden adapter enables data to be transferred and projected wirelessly from a smartphone, PC or Chromebook leveraging user’s own Chromecast, an Acer MWA3 MHL dongle(1) or Acer Wireless HD, which delivers 60Hz Full HD 3D movies without having to change settings when used with a HDMI cable connected to a media player. The unique hidden design of the adapter furthers data security, while maintaining the projector’s clean look and feel and reducing the possibility of it being lost.
Two built in 10W speakers provide powerful sound, eliminating the need for external speakers.
