A little confusing this one because, for most of you, this sort of thing won’t be needed. If you do have old TDK-90 tapes kicking around your loft then you’ll have probably re-purchased the music that was on those tapes via your iPod or iPhone by now. The rest of you have probably never heard of a “tape”, but you know that your parents annoyingly tell you that they’ve “taped a show” on the PVR.
However, if you do have a need to convert some old recordings, possibly made by your good self when you were a lot younger, this EZCap USB Cassette Converter is the thing you need.
It’s usually £29.99 but they’ve lopped £20 off the cost so it’s only £9.99. It’s pretty simple to use. Just dig out your old tapes, connect the tape player to your computer via the USB connection and off you go – it’ll convert the tune into an MP3 so you can listen to it on a slightly more modern device.
Look. Look! It has auto-reverse and mega bass! MEGA BASS!!
Update – Doah! Typical. Minutes after we run the story and it’s out of stock. You can buy it on Amazon for £14.95 with free delivery though.
