The Samsung Galaxy S II / GT-I9100. Call it what you will, it’s ruddy quick. Equipped with a dual-core 1.2GHz chip it’s already blown away most of the competition with benchmark results like this. The specs are all very decent indeed. That large 4.3″ 480×800 pixel super AMOLED WVGA display also brings colours to life and works well in direct sunlight, as you’ll see in the video below.
This is the 16GB model, from Clove, but you can also get a 32GB version. Inside you get 1GB of RAM and an 8 megapixel camera at the back. Up front is another camera with a 2 megapixel resolution. Once you’ve finished recording your HD video there’s either a WiFi or HSPA+ for sharing it on the web plus aGPS, Bluetooth v3.0, 3.5mm audio jack, a microUSB connection and Android Gingerbread.
We’ll be testing the DLNA “AllShare” system later and will be taking you around the handset a bit more in the coming days, but until then here’s our video tour..

One question: Battery life!
One question: Battery life!
Is it weird that I think I would really really miss the hardware search button? I use it all the time, probably everyday.
I tried this phone out last week after your O2 £400 story and I am quite tempted but so unsure. The build quality feels like crap, the screen did not blow me away even though everyone keep banging on about SAMOLED Plus, no qHD, it tries so hard to look like the old Iphone, TouchWiz is horrible and I want my search button.
These are the negatives I keep swinging around my head but by god the phone does do an awful lot right. Super quick, plenty of storage (see that HTC? Grrrrr) decent sized battery and plenty of built in media options. The £400 is the thing that’s getting at me the most. I know when the sensation lands unlocked it will be £500+, has a pathetic amount of storage and is probably 2 months away.
BAH, I could sit here all night slagging the phone off but wake up tomorrow morning and order one. I’m so conflicted haha.
One quick thing. I never got too use the browser properly, how does it look on the screen? I see it’s quick (understatement?) but is it sharp or jaggy? In fact how sharp is the screen in general use?
I will be watching all of these videos and wouldn’t be at all surprised if I bought one at anytime 🙂 🙁 🙂 🙁 :S
Damn O2 is no longer doing that deal 🙁
