Today is officially Galaxy S7 day, with handsets arriving into store. It means that everyone – not just those that pre-orded – can get either the S7 or S7 edge.
We’ve had some details from Vodafone, giffgaff and Three this morning, so here’s what you need to know if you’re considering buying through these networks.
Firstly, Three. They’re keen to promote the 4G at no extra cost, their Feel at Home roaming deal and six months free Deezer subscription. Also they are pushing the fact that the Samsung handsets are compatible with Three’s 4G Super-Voice network, which will allow users access to greater coverage while indoors. They’ve sent a spreadsheet across so that you can see the prices, or you can jump across to the Three website..

Next up, giffgaff. They state that both models will be available to buy online either out-right. You can also pay the phone off each month, spreading the cost over 6, 12, or 24 months. One plan goes towards the phone, and another for whatever goodybag you want to have. Costs depend on the handset. The S7 if £569 and the S7 edge is £629. You can pay a deposit of just £25 and then, over 24 months, pay either £26.97 for the S7 or £29.94 for the S7 edge with their Peer-to-Peer lending system. Head to giffgaff.com/samsung/phones for all the details.
Over at Vodafone, there’s various offers on the table. You can get the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge or Samsung Galaxy S7 on a Vodafone Red 10GB Bundle for £50 or £44 per month respectively. Both of these have an upfront cost, which is £29. You’ll get unlimited texts, unlimited minutes and 10GB of data every month with that deal. For the same up-front cost there’s the Vodafone Red Value 15GB Bundle. This is £55 per month for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge or £49 per month for the Samsung Galaxy S7. This gets you unlimited texts, unlimited minutes and 15GB of data,
As usual you’ll be offered the choice of 12 months free access to Netflix (available until 31 March 2016), or 24 months free access to Sky Sports Mobile TV, Spotify Premium or a NOW TV Entertainment Pass. Head to the Vodafone site for details and do check out EE, O2 and all the other networks if you’d like to compare prices on your favourite carrier.
Meanwhile it actually looks like pre-orders went extremely well. Samsung have responded to our earlier story and they tell us that their S7 smartphones have generated more pre-orders than any other Galaxy smartphone in the UK … ever. Sales for the new Galaxy S7 and S7 edge were at least two and a half times greater than those of any other previous Galaxy device in the UK. I
